Utah Minority Bar Association Sponsors CLE, “Get the 411: The Judicial Selection Process Demystified”

Mar. 28 | Salt Lake City, UT – HNBA Affiliate the Utah Minority Bar Association (UMBA) sponsored a CLE on “The Judicial Application Process Demystified” which was attended by about 50 attorneys.  Presenters included a panel of judges and the key decision making people in the judicial nominating process for state judges in Utah. Five UMBA members who are also judicial applicants attended this very informative CLE.

Event description: Becoming a top judicial candidate involves much more than merely submitting your application and resume for the next judicial vacancy. This seminar will provide up to date and relevant information to help you get down to the nitty-gritty of the judicial selection process from making the decision to apply to being interviewed by Utah Governor Gary Herbert and his key staff members.  Valuable information and interview tips at all levels of the process including ethical responsibilities to consider when applying for a judicial position will also be presented.  This seminar will be of particular interest to those who want to “get the 411” and inside scoop on the judicial application process for the Third District Court.
