Florida Elections Commission
Rosanna Manuela Catalano is the Executive Director of the Florida Elections Commission. In this position she serves as the Chief Administrator for this state-wide agency that regulates political committees and the like, along with all candidates running for public office from City Commissioners to State Legislators. She also runs a company called Juris Doctor 101, where she advises undergraduates students about law school admissions and provides guidance to law students and attorneys with regards to their resumes and job searches.
Prior to this position, she was the Assistant Dean for Administration at the Florida State University College of Law. In that position, she worked closely with the Dean on all strategic planning and oversaw a budget in excess of $40 million dollars which included public and private dollars, the IT department, the facilities, and all HR needs for the school.
Before her management career, Rosanna spent a lot of time in courtrooms and television newsrooms. She served as Board Counsel to the Florida Board of Nursing and Florida Board of Medicine Credentials Committee while working at the Attorney General’s Office. She was a prosecutor at Florida Department of Health and Office of the State Attorney, in both the 17th and 2nd Judicial Circuits. She was a freelance producer for WTVJ-TV in Miami and a producer and host at Florida’s News Channel.
Rosanna earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law. While in law school, she was one of the founding editors of the Journal of Technology, Law & Policy, which was one of the first online student law journals at the time. She is licensed to practice law in Florida and the District of Columbia.
