Anna Maria Tejada concentrates in the areas of Employment Practices Liability, Labor and Employment Law on Behalf of Management, Directors and Officers Liability, Professional Liability and Education Law. Ms. Tejada represents employers, attorneys, school districts and school boards, and municipalities in state and federal courts. Additionally she has represented clients in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Division of Civil Rights.

Ms. Tejada’s experience includes representing school boards before the Office of Administrative Law and the Superior Court of New Jersey and advising clients regarding labor, employment, and general education-related matters, including representing parents in special education matters.

Prior to joining KDVG, Ms. Tejada practiced law for a Top-10 ranked New Jersey law firm and served as an Equal Justice Works Fellow for the Education Law Center (ELC) where she assisted in enforcement proceedings of the landmark decisions of Abbott v. Burke. Ms. Tejada served as an Appellate Clerk for the Honorable John E. Wallace, Jr., now retired, for the Supreme Court of New Jersey.

Ms. Tejada earned her Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law-Newark and her Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University. During law school, Ms. Tejada served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable John W. Bissell, U.S.D.J. as well as a Legal Intern for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York and before the United States District of New Jersey.

Ms. Tejada is a member of several Bar Associations including the New Jersey State bar, Hispanic National Bar, Dominican Bar, and the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey where she is a Trustee-at-Large. She is a member of the Latinas United for Political Empowerment (L.U.P.E.) and board Member of their political action committee. She is a frequent presenter at legal, industry and community organizations and is fluent in Spanish.
