15TH ANNUAL UVALDO HERRERA NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION

This year the HNBA hosted an Inaugural Corporate Counsel Conference in San Diego, California on March 4-6, 2010. This three-day gathering offered unparalleled opportunities for outside counsel to meet representatives from numerous Fortune 500 Companies, and provided a unique setting to connect Corporate America and the HNBA. Participants were able to take advantage of the invaluable networking opportunities offered throughout the conference including an intimate Corporate Connections event that facilitated meetings to identify HNBA members as possible outside counsel to coporate and public agencies. In parallel, the HNBA conducted its 15th Annual Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition. The Moot Court Competition enabled law students to hone their brief-writing and oral advocacy skills while exploring a complex legal issue, and to form relationships with the judges and practitioners at the Conference. This year’s competition problem was written by former U.S. Solicitor General Ted Olsen and Tom Dupree of the law firm of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
