Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association Holds Annual Meeting
Apr. 26 | Minneapolis, MN – The Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association held its Annual Meeting at the firm of Fredrikson & Byron in Minneapolis. The MHBA presented the Access to Justice award to Nelson Peralta for his firm’s pro bono representation of four children and one adult, victims of the 2007 Minneapolis 35W bridge collapse litigation. The MHBA announced its endowment recipients of $2,500 stipends to Immigrant Law Center and Neighborhood Justice Center to fund a summer law clerk. Melisa López Franzen, HNBA Regional President and former MHBA president currently running for Minnesota state senate gave the keynote address. The organization also elected its new board. Outgoing president, Gerardo Alcazar, an attorney with Robins Kaplan Miller and Ciresi L.L.P. passed the gavel to new president Beatriz Menanteau, an attorney with The Advocates for Human Rights.
