HNBA President-Elect Peter M. Reyes, Jr. Attends CBAC Annual Dinner
On May 16, 2012, President-Elect Peter M. Reyes, Jr. represented the Hispanic National Bar Association (“HNBA”) at the Annual Dinner of the Coalition of Bar Associations of Color (“CBAC”). Members of CBAC include HNBA, the National Asian Pacific Bar Association (“NAPABA”), the National Native American Bar Association (“NNABA”), and the National Bar Association (“NBA”). CBAC members worked year-round to pass resolutions on issues of common interest. Resolutions that were signed at the dinner covered such areas as diversity in the judiciary, the Violence Against Women Act, and voting rights. Members of CBAC were in Washington, DC to meet with Members of Congress and the White House on these various issues. Peter was joined by HBA-DC Affiliate Representative Fernando Rivero and HNBA Region V Deputy Presidents Zuraya Tapia-Hadley and Martha Villanigro-Santiago. The event took place at the National Museum of the American Indian on the National Mall.
