Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, Eric Schultz and working closely with senior leadership and HPHC’s Board of Directors, the CLO will develop and lead the organization’s corporate legal strategy to promote and protect matters and serve as a key member of the Leadership Team in establishing all aspects of the corporate business strategy. The CLO will lead and manage a team of attorneys who are responsible for the delivery of all legal services in a wide range of areas, including but not limited to regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, provider contracting, risk management, employment, fraud prevention and recovery and litigation. In addition, the CLO will have leadership responsibility for Internal Audit, Corporate Compliance including the Special Investigations Unit; Government Affairs and P&L responsibility for HPHC’s Senior Programs, including Medicare Advantage and the Medicare Supplemental Program.
The successful candidate must have excellent academic credentials, a law degree from an ABA accredited school of law, membership in the State Bar of Massachusetts or eligibility for admission based on reciprocity is required. Prior experience in the health insurance business is preferred, however broad business experience that aligns with the changing direction of HPHC will also be considered
