DISTRICT OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS

            U.S. Court of Appeals seeks experienced criminal practice attorney for the position of Federal Public Defender (FPD) for the District of the Virgin Islands.  The FPD is appointed to a four year term pursuant to 18 United States Code § 3006A and compensation is currently set at $155,500 per annum.  An applicant should have the following qualifications:  (1) a member in good standing in the bar of each state in which admitted to practice; (2) a minimum of five years criminal practice experience, preferably with significant federal criminal law experience; (3) the ability to effectively administer the office; (4) a reputation for integrity; (5) a commitment to the representation of those unable to afford counsel.  Qualified candidates will be considered equally and without regard to race, sex, religious affiliation or national origin.  E-mail your request for an application to fpd_application@ca3.uscourts.gov.  When you receive the application, detach it, complete it and e-mail it back to the same e-mail address given above.
