The Real Estate Finance Bureau of the Office of the New York State Attorney General is seeking an attorney to serve as an Assistant Attorney General in its Enforcement Section. The Enforcement Section investigates complaints regarding public offerings of condominiums, cooperatives, timeshares, homeowners associations and real estate syndications, and can initiate both civil and criminal actions pursuant to the Attorney General’s powers under the Martin Act (N.Y. Gen. Bus. Law Art. 23-A) and N.Y. Exec. Law § 63(12).

The ideal candidate will have approximately three years of experience litigating in New York State Supreme Court (preferably in matters related to real estate), and some familiarity with various aspects of at least one of the following:

(i) construction law,(ii) cooperative and condominium law, and/or (iii) affordable housing law (such as Mitchell-Lama cooperatives, Housing Development Finance Corporations (HDFCs) and/or the Private Financing Housing Law). Superior lawyering skills, including research, writing, legal analysis and advocacy, are required.

Applicants must have a minimum of two years of practice experience and reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) the State of New York.
