The Director, Business & Legal Affairs will be part of a team handling negotiation and documentation of (and legal advice related to) license agreements and related agreements and matters for the Cable & New Media group.


• Drafts and negotiates contracts, including primarily license agreements, for television and new media customers worldwide

• Advises and coordinates with sales executives, marketing and administrative personnel to identify and resolve business and legal issues (including issues relating to contract interpretation) and provide ongoing counsel, advice and support

• Assists with resolving various types of issues by coordinating with sales executives, marketing and administrative personnel

• Provides oversight of general legal and business practices and standards and oversight of certain litigation matters

• Provides oversight of regulatory, compliance and governmental affairs and trade group participation

• Directs other special projects and performs other related duties as assigned by management


• JD from a law school of recognized standing

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience practicing corporate/transactional law at a major law firm

• Demonstrated, proven drafting and negotiation skills

• Previous experience in licensing entertainment product is a plus

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a range of personalities and styles and to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization
