Our practice involves counseling and litigation on behalf of publicly-owned clients before Equatorial Guinea’s regulatory commissions, agencies and courts, and arbitration panels.

The Centurion LLP Foreign Associate Program is designed to introduce law degree candidates or recipients to the firm’s practice areas (Oil and Gas, International Litigation, Mining, International Business transaction, Human Rights, Corporate Social Responsibility, Public Policy & Legislative, Telecommunications, Transportation, and Commercial Litigation), our approach to quality legal representation, and our culture. Associates are intricately involved with the firm’s cases and fully utilize their skills in our challenging work environment. Specific responsibilities include: 1) legal research, analysis and writing in a variety of subject areas, particularly International and national Oil and gas and Mining regulation, Affirmative Action Strategy of indigenous Africans in the oil and gas industry, legislative representation, negotiating production sharing contracts and licensing of petroleum equipment, telecommunications, and transportation; 2) drafting memos, briefs and other pleadings, including before federal and state administrative agencies, and federal and state courts; 3) client contact and participation in case strategy discussions; 4) assisting with discovery and trial preparation; 5) monitoring legislation in the areas of energy, environment and transportation; 6) assisting on pro bono matters; A number of educational and social events, generally involving all firm personnel (not just attorneys), round out the Centurion LLP Foreign Associate Program.
The Associate will also work with the Minister of Justice and the United Nations Mission of Equatorial Guinea to develop capacity on Human Rights issues and design training programs on Rule of Law issues.
Location: Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. There will be possible travel to other countries like Ghana (Accra), South Africa (Cape Town), Spain, China, London (London) and Russia (Russia).
