HNBA National President, Miguel Alexander Pozo


September 9, 2013 –Miguel Alexander Pozo, Esq., a brand lawyer and litigation partner at Lowenstein Sandler PC, was sworn in as President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) during the HNBA’s 38th Annual Convention in Denver, Colorado, on Saturday, September 7, 2013.

“We have accomplished much in the 41 years since the HNBA was founded. However, more remains to be done. Next year we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 yet we are reminded of how critical the work of this Association continues to be: the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision this summer in Shelby v. Holder, the continued fight to pass comprehensive immigration reform, and our ongoing efforts to diversify the profession and the judiciary, to mention a few,” said Mr. Pozo. “But while darkness may be found in some areas, we are comforted knowing that we can all be a light in the darkness. As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, ‘Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.’ Through the HNBA, and working with our strategic partners nationally and locally, we can make a difference.”
