HNBA hosted its 35th Annual Convention, Wednesday September, 8 through Saturday, September 11, 2010, welcoming hundreds of members, friends and supporters to Minneapolis, MN. The Twin Cities set the stage for a record-breaking convention. Click here for event pictures.
The HNBA would like to thank our distinguished guests, U.S. Supreme Court Justice (ret.) Sandra Day O’Connor, U.S. Senators John Cornyn (R-TX), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), and Al Franken (D-MN), sponsors, and attendees for joining us. A special thank you to Peter Reyes, HNBA Convention Chair, the HNBA Convention Planning Committee, and HNBA Affiliate the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association for making this event a great success!
The HNBA convened over 40 panels bringing together practitioners and leading experts to discuss the most salient issues and trends in the legal profession, such as General Counsel panelists Roderick (Rick) Palmore, General Mills; Jim Rowader, Target; Steven Euller, Cargill, Inc.; Dierdre Stanley, Thomson Reuters; and Samuel M. Reeves, Walmart.
The HNBA was also proud to recognize the achievement of exceptional attorneys through the HNBA 2010 Convention Awards, click here to view the 2010 list of award recipients, as well as the achievement of our talented law students during the Youth Symposium and Law Student Division program. In addition, HNBA member Judge Guadalupe (Lupe) Salinas received the prestigious Ohtli Award from the Mexican Government.
At the Gala, Senator Amy Klobuchar delivered an exceptional address regarding the importance of the HNBA’s mission and our role in fostering a diverse judiciary and diverse legal community. The gala concluded with the swearing-in ceremony of the 2010-2011 HNBA Board of Governors.
