Princeton University invites nominations and applications for the following full-time term position of Assistant University Counsel. This is a full-time 2 year term (non-renewable) professional internship position, designated as an Assistant University Counsel, which will provide an attorney, ideally having 1 to 2 years of experience, with an opportunity to assist the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) in providing legal counsel to the various University academic and administrative offices, thereby offering exposure to the practice of law in a university environment.
The Office of the Counsel to the Mayor is a small, collegial, and energetic group of extraordinarily talented lawyers within Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s office in City Hall. These attorneys devote themselves to helping the Mayor and his senior staff achieve the Mayor’s goals for his second term, including job creation and economic development; improving public safety by maintaining sufficient numbers of police officers and reducing gang violence; bringing choice, competition, and success to public schools; accelerating construction of mass transit projects; “greening” Los Angeles through reduced emissions, improved energy conservation, and increased reliance on renewable energy; and stabilizing the City’s fiscal condition. The Office seeks a new Deputy Counsel, as one of the current deputies is leaving to join the Obama administration.
The Inspector General plans, assigns, organizes and directs the work and resources of professional and clerical personnel engaged in the oversight of the Los Angeles Police Department’s internal disciplinary process and citizen complaint procedure and audit. The Inspector General acts as staff consultant to the Board of Police Commissioners and handles special investigative assignments at its direction.
Washington, D.C. – The HNBA announced today that it will recognize Senator Charles E. Schumer (D-NY), Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Congressman Luis V. Gutierrez (IL-4) as its 2010 Capital Awards Recipients. The HNBA will hold its Legislative Day and Capital Awards Dinner on May 12, 2010 in Washington, DC.

Obama’s decision to nominate William “Bill” Martinez for the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and Wifredo A. Ferrer for U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.
